Dear FIA: Screw you, love Red Bull – UPDATED

November 1, 2013

Red Bull have delivered a spectacular middle finger to the FIA following their 25,000 Euro fine for Sebastian Vettel’s celebratory donuts after clinching his fourth title at the Indian GP last weekend – by doing donuts on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab helipad, 210 metres above Dubai!

It wasn’t Vettel laying rubber this time though, rather it was ex-driver David Coulthard. Presumably he is slightly more expendable than the quadruple champ…

UPDATE

It seems the video has been blocked on YouTube due to a copyright claim by an outfit called Base79 Sports. Whether they are a legit company (and they do seem to be) or a bunch of shady knob-ends, they certainly don’t have a valid claim; the video was downloaded from the Red Bull Content Pool – of which I have accredited access to – and was free for editorial use and distribution.

I certainly hope this is a simple misunderstanding and that Base79 have made a mistake, rather than the alternative; that Base79 are a bunch of greedy content-hijacking copyright trolling pig-f*#kers.

I have disputed their claim with YouTube, so we shall see…

UPDATE 2

The video has been unblocked. It is very nice to know that YouTube are as quick to respond to a complaint of incorrect copyright claims as they are to the original claim. Well done YouTube!

Damien.
