Director and legendary stuntman Hal Needham has died at the age of 82.
Over the course of his long career, Needham worked on roughly 310 movies and 4,500 television episodes as a stuntman, developing a lot of the techniques and equipment used in the movie and television industry for stunts today. During all that time he broke 56 bones, as well as his back, twice!
He eventually moved to the director’s chair to bring us some of the best classic American car chase movies, such as Smokey and the Bandit and The Cannonball Run.
