Now this is something that could be rather promising…
This video is supposedly of the BMW i8 doing a quick run through the gears with its Active Sound Design technology (fake noise…) turned OFF! If that is actually true, then the sound coming from BMW’s little 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine is FREAKIN’ EPIC!
If it turns out that it is not true and the Active Sound is actually on, then it still sounds cool, but like all active engine noise systems feels a bit like cheating. Still, looks like the 4.4-second o to 100km/h time is pretty accurate.
