Sergio to enter production. Sort of…

The stunning Pininfarina Sergio Concept that  was revealed at the Geneva show as a tribute to legendary designer and former chairman of the Italian design company – Sergio Pininfarina, who passed away last year – may now actually be heading for production. Albeit in VERY limited numbers.

The Sergio is based on a Ferrari 458 Italia and is said to have been inspired by “Ferrari models of the ‘60s and ’70s”.

Current Pininfarina CEO, Silvio Angori, recently made an announcement that the company was “considering a very limited run of five to six units” of the car and that plans to make the concept street legal (including the fitment of a windscreen to comply with European homologation standards) were well underway.

If you want one you had better start saving now though, because the price is likely to be around US$3.89 (NZ$4.7) million…
